Colorado FAMLI on your pay stub

Updated 2026-09-27 · 2026 IRS and Social Security figures · how we calculate

FAMLI is Colorado's paid family and medical leave insurance. The 2026 premium is 0.88% of wages, and employers may take up to half from your pay — 0.44%, on wages up to $184,500 a year. On a $60,000 salary that's $10.15 every two weeks, $264 a year.

How to check the FAMLI line

  1. Take your wages for the period (the pay Social Security is figured on).
  2. Multiply by 0.0044 — $4.40 per $1,000.
  3. It stops once your wages for the year pass $184,500.

Some employers pay the employee share themselves and deduct nothing, so a lower or $0 FAMLI line can be correct. Employers with fewer than 10 employees don't pay their own half, but can still take yours. The premium falls to 0.86% from January 1, 2027.

0.44% employee share of wages up to $184,500. Paid every two weeks (26 paychecks), single filer. Where the line has a yearly limit, the yearly column applies it; the per-paycheck column is before the limit is reached.

What FAMLI pays

Once you've earned at least $2,500, you can take up to 12 weeks of paid leave a year — plus up to 4 more for pregnancy or childbirth complications — to bond with a new child, care for yourself or a family member with a serious health condition, for a military family member's needs, or for safe leave after domestic violence. It pays up to 90% of your average weekly wage (lower earners get a higher share), capped at $1,448 a week from July 1, 2026.
