NY PFL and NY disability (SDI) on your pay stub
New York stubs usually show two small state lines. NY PFL (Paid Family Leave) is 0.432% of gross wages, up to $411.91 a year. NY SDI or DBL (disability benefits) is 0.5% of wages, but no more than $0.60 a week. On a $60,000 salary paid every two weeks: $9.97 for PFL and $1.20 for disability.
How to check the two lines
PFL: gross pay for the period × 0.00432 (0.432%). It stops once you've paid $411.91 for the year — only high earners reach that.
Disability (SDI/DBL): 0.5% of your pay, capped at $0.60 a week. So it's $1.20 every two weeks for almost everyone — the cap is reached at just $120 a week of pay. Some employers pay it themselves, so the line can be $0.
The pay stub checker works out both from your pay.
